| Event Name: | The exhibition "A Man Ahead of His Time. On the 125th Anniversary of the Birth of Rocket and Space T |
| Event Description: | The exhibition will introduce visitors to the unique ideas of Mikhail Klavdievich Tikhonravov, Sergei Pavlovich Korolev's collaborator in organizing the GIRD (Group for the Study of Reactive Propulsion), designer of the first Soviet liquid-propellant rocket, the GIRD-09, successfully tested in flight in 1933, director and creator of the design for a pressurized cabin for two pilots to lift them to altitudes of up to 200 kilometers using a liquid-propellant rocket, and head of the design department at Korolev's OKB-1 Design Bureau, where the first artificial satellites, manned spacecraft, and the first unmanned interplanetary and lunar probes were developed. The exhibition will feature brochures by K.E. Tsiolkovsky with notes by M.K. Tikhonravov, a telescope given to the designer by the OKB-1 team, paintings from 1935, 1950 and 1970, a sketch box, brushes and paints, books, a slide rule, a pen and pencil, as well as part of a collection of beetles. |
