| Event Description: | Space Week 2025 4 – 7 October Saturday, 4 October From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM This day is dedicated to the Moon, coinciding with NASA’s International Moon Night. The evening begins with a short film screening, followed by a lecture by Dr. Bashir Marzouq, then a hands‑on workshop for children. We conclude with Moon observation through telescopes. Sunday, 5 October From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM We begin with a lecture on the Fundamentals of Astrophotography, followed by a presentation titled The Photographer’s Journey. Afterwards, there is an invitation‑only talk on The Career of a Qatari Observer by Rabia Al Kuwari. Monday, 6 October From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM On this day, Dr. Jörg Matthias Determann (Virginia Commonwealth University) will deliver a scientific presentation. Then we will screen the film Polaris (3D), and the evening ends with a children’s storytelling session: Khalifa and Amal Go to Space. Tuesday, 7 October From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM This final day links environment and space. The program starts with a lecture on the importance of preserving the environment and its role in living in space, followed by the film Stars – Losing the Dark. Then we have an environmental planting activity. To end symbolically, children will release a balloon carrying a Message to Space, letting it float into the night sky. Meanwhile, the plant participants nurtured will be presented as though it came from one of the early space stations—echoing real experiments like NASA’s Veggie plant growth system aboard the International Space Station |
