| Event Name: | Virtual Awareness Talk : Women in Space |
| Event Description: | A virtual talk session was planned on Saturday, 9th October 2021 at 11:00 am- 11:30 am in accordance with the theme: “Women in Space”. The Talk Session was conducted by Ms. Yumna Majeed who is a space enthusiast and is working to create awareness about space among the younger generation. Students joined using their beaconite id, with the link that was shared 10 minutes before the session on their Google Classroom stream. The main content of the talk was the journey of Miss Yumna Majeed since 2016 as a space enthusiast and later as space educator and how she overcame hurdles like socio-cultural and financial barriers. Her program, Explorations by Yumna catapulted her to her present success in the field. She recounted her experience and the inspiration she got from Women in Space. Students were encouraged to come up with their relevant questions and ask after the talk session. Students also shared amazing information about space while waiting for the guest speaker to reconnect in the Google meet. Smart and well-laid questions were asked during the session. |
