COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Feb. 28, 2023 — Space Foundation, a nonprofit
organization founded in 1983, offering information, education and collaboration for the global
space ecosystem, today announced that it has been selected by the World Space WeekAssociation as the World Space Week national coordinator for the United States.
In 1999, the U.N. General Assembly declared Oct. 4-10 as World Space Week. Since then, it has
grown to be the largest space event on Earth, according to the Association. Events are held by
space agencies, the industry, the U.N., schools, and thousands of organizations that week each
year. Preliminary results of World Space Week 2022 show a record-breaking number of over
10,000 reported events in 88 countries.

Association as the national coordinator for the United States,” said Space Foundation Chief
Operation Officer Shelli Brunswick. “Every year, World Space Week provides an incredible
