Goran Nikolašević has been selected as interim Executive Director of World Space Week Association, Association President Dennis Stone announced today.
“Goran has risen through the ranks of World Space Week due to his dedication, capability, and diligence,” Stone said. Nikolašević began as World Space Week National Coordinator for Croatia, then managed all WSW national coordinators, and became our global Operations Manager last year, he said.
Nikolašević succeeds Timiebi Aganaba-Jeanty, a recent law PhD graduate who is now focusing on developing her research as a post-doctoral fellow in governance innovation, he said.
“Timi served World Space Week Association ably during a crucial period, building the volunteer base and achieving record growth in the scale of this annual global celebration of space,” Stone said.
UN-declared World Space Week, October 4-10 annually, had over 2,700 events reported by 1,300 organizations in 86 nations last year. The theme for World Space Week 2017 is “Exploring New Worlds in Space.” The volunteer-led Association coordinates World Space Week at the global level in support.
