Event Description: | Talking Science at RAL is a series of fascinating and FREE monthly scientific lectures by invited speakers that takes place at STFC's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory every month between September and June. Dr Chris North, Cardiff University Friday 7 October 2016, 1:30pm/7pm, audience 7+ - BOOKING ESSENTIAL We have a large number of spacecraft exploring the Solar System, constantly answering questions about the planets and their formation. From the ongoing search for life on Mars, to the nitrogen glaciers of Pluto, there is barely a month goes without us revealing some new insight into the Solar System. But for every question that is answered, more are raised. In this talk, Chris will give a whistle-stop tour of our understanding of the Solar System, how our knowledge is expanding, and what questions we still have to answer. |
