| Event Name: | Measuring the mass of the Earth; the Life Cycle of Stars |
| Event Description: | In the afternoon we will be reading the special personal message transmitted from the FunCube satellite 600Km in Space. Using the downloaded data we will determine its orbital period and hence mass of the Earth. In the evening we will watch the International Space Station pass over us followed by a talk by astrophysicist Charlotte Jenner on the Life Cycle of Stars. We will then go outside to the two observatories to view the night sky. |
