| Event Description: | To commemorate the event Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI) holds the International Forum “Sputnik: 60 Years Along the Path of Discoveries”, which would examine the evolution of our ideas about the Earth, Solar system, other stars, galaxies, and the Universe over the recent six decades. The main fields and issues of modern space research will be covered in the talks, given by prominent experts in the field of space science. | Report on the Results: | The talks of the Forum covered the major areas of modern space research: - Sun and solar-planetary relations - planetary research - astrophysics and cosmosogy - manned space flights - Earth from space and space hazards. Space research institute hosted an exhibition of archival documents and presented a newly open online exhibition http://sputnik.rusarchives.ru/ The presentations are currently being collected on the web site of the Forum.
