Report on the Results: | The third European Business Agency (ESA) Estonian Business Incubator Demo Day brought together a large part of the Estonian space community. The fifth anniversary of Estonia's accession to the European Space Agency was also celebrated. Estonian space strategists Paul Liias and Madis Võõras summarized Estonia's success stories and vision for the future, the European view was given by Dr. A.J. Sephton from ESA's Innovation Department. All three highlighted Estonia's great potential to be a leader in research-intensive business, which is supported by the projects that have already been implemented and the agreements of Estonian companies with the space agency. There is a great opportunity for Estonian companies and the whole of Estonia in space data and technologies. Proof of this is also the case of all 15 companies in the ESA BIC Estonia business incubator. The space community continued discussions at a reception in support of ESTCube. Dr Taavi Raadik (TalTech), Professor Mart Noorma (Milrem), Dr Mihkel Pajusalu (UT Tartu Observatory) and Martin Jüssi (CGI) spoke in the panel discussion on Estonian space sciences and business. The day ended with an auction organized in support of ESTCube 2, where both the first picture taken by ESTCube 2 and the opportunity to spend the day with the team in the satellite control center went on sale. |
