Event Name:  NASA’s Tour of the Electromagnetic Spectrum: Webinar
Event Description:  Register: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/3030140074453501188 WHEN: 1-1:45 pm EDT, Wed Oct 5th ABOUT: 45 min Virtual Educational Presentation on Remote Sensing for World Space Week 2016, Grades 5-8. Almost all NASA science investigations involve sensing electromagnetic energy remotely. Whether the remote sensing instruments are active or passive, they all rely on sensing a specific portion of the spectrum. This webinar will introduce electromagnetic waves, how they differ across the spectrum, and how instruments can sense energy beyond visible light. We’ll take a tour of the full electromagnetic spectrum and discover how scientists study our planet and our universe in these different wavelengths. Students will then identify electromagnetic energy in the world around them with the Wavestown worksheet. Presented by Ginger Butcher, NASA/SSAI. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
