| Report on the Results: | This was the largest event, a seminar on Astronomy and Space Science It took place at the Copperbelt University. It attracted 94 participants. The majority of the participants were high school pupils from 16 Kitwe based high schools and Copperbelt University students. Special presentations on space science and astronomy, applications of space science technologies and open source astronomy software were given by Copperbelt University and University of Zambia Physics lecturers. Participants were treated with a rare opportunity having a feel of the planetarium dome supplied by the Physics Department of the University of Zambia. This event was graced by the Copperbelt University Registrar, Mr. A. Ilunga. The Copperbelt University was the sole sponsor of the seminar for which the organizing team is so grateful. At the end of the seminar, participants were given the free astronomy simulation software. |
