| Event Name: | Sputinik: Celebrating 50 Years of Space Flight: Space Science Week Festival at Gujarat Science City |
| Event Description: | The Gujarat Science City is celebrating 'World Space Week' during 4th to 10th October 2007 by organizing various activities for students and the general visitors on the theme '50 years in Space'. The programme is a part of the International celebration of the contribution that space science and technology makes to the betterment of the human condition. School students are encourages to participate in various activities organized in this occasion like illustrative poster exhibition, screening of space science movies, interaction with scientists. They also participate in various competitions like essay writing, poster painting, quiz, puzzle and elocution competition. There is no registration fee. Meritorious students will receive certificates and prizes at the valedictory programme on 10th October 2007. For children's imagination and understanding, a series of space science titles like, Target Moon, Destination Mars, Astronomer's Universe, Our Solar System, Extra-Terrestrial Communication and many more have been scheduled for screening during the space week observation. |
