Report on the Results: | We, Japanese, enjoy looking up at the harvest moon, and this custom is called otsukimi. In time for otsukimi, Miraikan holds a special event every year. This year is a special year for exploration of the moon: The year the Japanese lunar orbiter spacecraft Kaguya was intentionally crashed onto the lunar surface and the year 40-year anniversary of moon landing. In this year a theme of the event was Why we aim to reach the Moon now? We displayed a lunar rover and movies of moon surface captured by the Japanese lunar orbiter spacecraft Kaguya. A talk-show with researchers of moon was held with the exhibition. We could communicate the necessity of various science and technology for lunar living with many people. |
