Event Description:  4 week astronomy unit covering many topics from Big Bang, galaxy types, stars, our solar system, as well as other celestial bodies (asteroids, meteoroids, comets...)

Report on the Results:  Each of my 25 students created amazing Solar Systems on a Plate and will be sharing these with families on Seesaw (digital portfolios) as well as research on individual planets. We also observed our own classroom comet (dry ice hanging from ceiling all day), created phases of the moon and ate them (Oreos), studied Ptolemy, Copernicus and Galileo and did a cool mapping/relative distance of planets from sun outdoors activity with a measuring tool and mini posters
