| Event Description: | At 10:00AM Mountain Time, a high altitude helium balloon will be launched from a launch site in Casa Grande, Arizona, to a height of no less than 30,000 metres or 100,0000 feet above sea level, filmed via onboard camera and tracked using radio and satellite systems. It will carry a pound of specially cultivated cannabis, creating the very first medicinal 'space weed'. The balloon will burst and the payload will parachute back down to Earth to be retrieved by the team. Subsequent analysis will determine what physical changes have occurred in the plant on a molecular level and what possible effects this might have on the strength, duration and quality of the subsequent high. |

| Report on the Results: | The launch was a success, achieving a final altitude of 131,208 feet. The payload was recovered minutes after touching down and the retrieval process was captured and edited into a short promotional film for the vent. Analysis of the cannabis leaf is still in progress although preliminary investigations suggest the temperature changes in a low atmosphere environment may have had a refining effect on the medically significant oils which coat the plant. |
