| Event Description: | WORLD SPACE WEEK 2018 Pattukkottai polytechnic college,(PPC)Pattukkottai has Hi-Tech passion of mission and vision to serve and enlighten life of rural students & public and marching towards Pattukkottai polytechnic college,Pattukkottai has celebrating the World space Weak (WSW) in associate with ISRO, Sriharikotta between 8 & 10th of October 2018 – 3 days. Shri. A.Annadurai IAS, Thanjavur District Collector lights on the Celebration and Exhibition on 8th October 2018 by 9.30am. Shri. SDS.Selvam, Correspondent Pattukkotai Polytechnic College, Pattukkottai, made the Special Address and Dr. V.Sundar, Dean, Madras Medical College (MMC), Chennai & shri V.Muthuvelu, Principal, Pattukkotai Polytechnic College, Pattukkottai made the felicitation address. Shri R.Senthilkumar, CGM,SMP & ETF, SDSC SHAR Chairman,WSW 2018, Pattukkottai welcome the gathering and Shri V.Kumbakaranan, General Manager, VALF & Project Director, SVAB, SDSC SHAR, ISRO Sriharikotta preside over the inauguration. Thousands of School,college students in and around of Pattukkottai, BSNL Staff and Publics participated SPACE AWARENESS WALK was performed on 9th October2018 by 8.30 am between Anna statue & BUS Terminal station of Pattukkottai.District Superintendent of Police Dr.T.Senthil Kumar, Ph.D., Thanjavur flag off the procession at Anna Statue of Pattukkottai. The WSW concludes on 10th October by 5.30 PM. Shri S.Pandian, Director, Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) preside the valediction and distributed the Prizes to the winners of competitions. Shri. C.V.Vinod, Principal General Manager, BSNL, Thanjavur made the valedictory address and Shri. SDS.Selvam, Correspondent and Shri. V.Muthuvelu, Principal, Pattukkotai Polytechnic College delivered the special address. Shri. R.Senthilkumar, CGM SMP & ETF, SDSC SHAR Chairman, WSW 2018, Pattukkottai welcome the gatherings and Shri. | Report on the Results: | Elocution, Quiz, Model and Poster display competitions were conducted during the celebrations of all 3 days for school and college students. ISRO, SHAR exibits its VIKAS ENGINE, Sattelite launching fourth stage engine, Models of rockets and100 of Display boards demonstrates about ISRO activities at the venue of Pattukkottai Polytechnic College. Nearly 500 nos of competitors of different schools and colleges participated in the competitions. Prizes were distributed at the venue by. Shri S.Pandian, Director, Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) to the winners of competitions. Nearly 50,000 Numbers of school & college students and public of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Pudukkottai were visited the exbits at Pattukkottai Polytechnic College premises. Awareness among economically weaker section of rural surroundings of Pattukkottai were learnt about space and its happens through this activity |
