Event Description:  To celebrate the 1969 Lunar Landing and to consider the current climate chaos on Planet Earth, Egni is sending an artist to the moon in a locally-produced, community-owned, sustainable space shuttle, funded by a National Lottery community grant. Artist-poet Emily Hinshelwood is calling on volunteers to help build the space capsule in Pontardawe Arts Centre’s Oriel Lliw. Here she will live for 14 days, with 24/7 livestreamed footage from NASA’s space station, and will document her journey in a regular moon blog: Come along & take part in her creative luna workshops and find out what happens when you look at home from 200,000 miles away. When she docks back on Planet Earth on the 18th October, she will present a sharing of ideas and work that she and visitors have produced during the Mission.
