Event Description: | التعريف بالاسبوع العالمي لفضاء The first Saudi Telecom Satellite, or Saudi GeSat-1, is a Saudi synchronous geospatial satellite belonging to the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. The project was approved in April 2018, with the signing of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the last piece of the Saudi satellite in San Francisco, USA [1] [2] and was built by Lockheed Martin and launched on February 5, 2019 from the Coro base in French Guiana, northern South America, on board Ariane Flight 247VA. The satellite will provide a secure communications system for security and military authorities in the Middle East, South Africa and Europe. This is the 16th Saudi satellite to be launched into space.
