Event Name:  #AimHigher for Artemis, World Space Week and Int'l Day of the Girl
Event Description:  From October 11-22, an Earthwork portrait will be displayed as an eco-friendly grass artwork featuring active NASA astronaut Stephanie Wilson in downtown Atlanta at Woodruff Park. A 4,800 square-foot natural art exhibit is being created to commemorate International Day of the Girl to raise awareness about NASA’s Artemis Program and inspire women and girls through the high-profile STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) exhibit. The Earthwork will be framed by approximately 1400 – 1500 tiles with space art created by kids from 14 Atlanta area schools and three Atlanta hospitals. We will take satellite images of the Earthwork from low Earth orbit. On site will be NASA astronauts to speak about how representation like this Earthwork helps to inspire more women and girls and people of color to aim higher for their dreams and to pursue careers in space and tech fields.
