| Event Description: | Visita a las cámaras anecoicas de la ETSI de Telecomunicación de la mano de una investigadora UPM experta en comunicaciones. Durante la visita se explicará cómo se diseñan, ensayan y funcionan las antenas gracias a las que es posible comunicarse con las misiones espaciales. En concreto, se hablará de la experiencia del Grupo de Radiación de la UPM con las misiones Mars Express, Venus Express, Solar Orbiter, BepiColombo y Juice. | Report on the Results: | The activity was followed by 10 students at the LEHA (Laboratory of Testing and Homologation of Antennas B-031) in the ETSI de Telecomunicación. The activity consisted of the presentation of the space designs carried out by two RF groups from the SSR Department. First of all, the organisation started by showing a video about the operation of the LEHA anechoic chambers. Then the audience were given a presentation of the antenna designs and passive RF elements as well as antenna measurements for space applications made for ESA (Rosseta, Mars Express, Venus Express, Bepi Colombo, Solar Orbiter, Juice, among others). Finally, the activity ended with a visit to the LEHA anechoic chambers. |
