| Event Description: | I live in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, and the town has a very active Facebook page with around 23,000 participants - so I intend to post aerospace and astronomy related artwork after all, I am a space artist) alongside interesting facts and links to useful websites. My local astronomy group recently had a solar scope day at our local nature reserve and I posted images from that event onto the Stanford Facebook page which generated quite a lot of interest. That led me to thinking about how I might host a WSW event, in line with sustainability, and that led me to a radical idea of posting an image-a-day (with comments and links about space) onto the community Facebook page. There is a growing awareness amongst my neighbors that they have an aerospace and astronomy artist living and working in Stanford-le-Hope, so I hope that this outreach event, on behalf of WSW, will encourage the citizens of my town to interact with our local astronomy group, perhaps even become members and learn how to enjoy the night sky. I will also be linking my SpacetoberChallenge tweets to WSW. |
