Event Description: | The seventh edition of World Space Week Wrocław will be devoted to issues related to the role of science and engineering, which are the only opportunity for humanity to overcome the crises affecting us. The event will be held in a hybrid open format, i.e., onsite with live streaming. We will use the tried and tested interdisciplinarity formula, combining a conference with a family zone, an educational zone, workshops, training sessions and a space for networking and collaboration. Date: October 21-22, 2023 Place: Concordia Design, Wyspa Słodowa 7, Wrocław, Poland The aim of the event is to promote science, to raise public awareness and to educate and shape new generations in the use of scientific and technological developments to remedy, counteract or stop the multidimensional global crisis. The aim is furthermore to popularise science with a particular focus on: • space technologies and new technologies • digital security • environmental protection and ecology • engineering skills training • the impact of technology development on solving many global problems • optimization of technologies and the pace of their development in terms of environmental protection, energy crisis, economic crisis or human resources The invited guests include Szymon Szczęśniak (‘JSON’) from CodeTwo and HRejterzy, Prof. Grzegorz Wrochna, President of the Polish Space Agency, prof. Piotr Orleański director of Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, prof. Hanna Rotkaehl (CBK PAN), dr Aleksandra Bukała (POLSA) and others. The aim of the conference is to showcase the scientific and technological achievements of Poles, thus inspiring young people to take up career paths in science and engineering.
