Missions like NASA's New Horizons mission and SpaceX's Dragon program are expanding our knowledge of how far humans can reach the universe, from sending satellites into deep space To the possibility of living on Mars, NASA's Kepler mission discovered 2,337 planets outside our solar system, inspired by recent discoveries of ancient solar systems and innovations in spacecraft Scientists are making progress in spacecraft such as rockets and small, reusable satellites. The International Space Week Association chose the theme of 2017 to be “exploring new worlds in space.” Exploring new worlds in space. With this future theme, the Association plans to hold the largest Space Week since the United Nations announced it in 1999. Organizers and scientists alike hope that this focus on exploration will encourage discussions about the benefits of advancing space technology and where humans should explore in the future. |
