| Event Name: | SPACE: GUIDING YOUR WAY, REDISCOVERING CHILDHOOD |
| Event Description: | This year our school, School nr.30 Gheorghe Titeica, situated in Constanta, Romania will participate, one again in the celebrations dedicated to the International Space Week, event which has already established a tradition among the staff and especially the students studying here. The topic chosen this year has to do with our common wish to explore and stay young for as much as possible- SPACE: GUIDING YOUR WAY, REDISCOVERING CHILDHOOD. A large number of students from both primary and lower- secondary classes are to be involved in activities of various types: CRAFT( as the little ones would like to design a unique kind of theme park- A SPACE PARK, which will be placed in the school yard), LEGO LAND- where the fans of these little pieces can explore the Universe with their model creations,LITTLE ARTISTS- who will make an exhibition of their incredible dreams painted in colours, COMPUTER WORLD- with materials based on internet research and personal input, power point presentations and projects- made by the elder students. We are all eager and delighted to attend this special event! |

| Report on the Results: | During the period between October 4th and 10th our school, School Gheorghe Titeica, Constanta was involved in the international project WORLD SPACE WEEK and students performed multiple tasks to illustrate the theme of this year. More than ever the students of the school were interested to take part in this event, about 80% of the 1200 pupils studying here and more than half of the teachers were eager to co-ordinate them. This year's international theme was SPACE- GUIDING YOUR WAY and in our school this was focused on various ways of re-inventing childhood for the little ones and on remembering it for the adults- both teachers and parents: REDISCOVERING CHILDHOOD. The coordinator of this project, librarian Anca Mosoiu stated: " People have been dreaming of flying since antiquity, they have been trying to reach the stars. This year we aim at playing and pretending that everything is possible within the very walls of this school. Therefore, maybe he dreamers of today will be the conquerers of the Universe tomorrow." With this goal, the games and entertainment for the little ones were taken from parks and brought to our schoolyard on Friday, October 10th , starting with 11 o' clock. There were miniature rockets, where children could have their photos taken, there were also models of our Solar System or The Milky Way, where children could dance in modern rhythms, there were hundreds of drawings and posters in which children depicted their personal view of the Universe in a unique game of shades light and shadow. Children also had a chance to do chalk pictures on the ground, Lego models, design planets of recycled materials, theme badges, invitations made by the little ones. There were counting games and board games made by the students of the 5th and 6th grades and poems in English and French written by the ones in the 4th grade. Special thanks for the success of this event to the parents, who helped and assisted their children every step of the way and were also present in the park on the last day. The school established a real partnership with students' families and the assistant headteacher's statement is relevant: " Today hundreds of parents and grandparents came here to enjoy this celebration together with their children or grandchildren, which reminds us that Space has no unbreakable frontiers. We appreciate the effort of everybody involved.
