| Report on the Results: | "‘Sciensea-2015’- A Mega Science Festival BVM Kitchlu Nagar hosted Sciensea-2015 featuring collaboration of major city schools. The fest commemorated the contribution of Dr. Sh.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam an embodiment of eclecticism of India’s heritage of diversity- ‘Science Guru’. The host activities geared in the field of science and technology explored interaction between science and life. A winsome welcome was extended to the worthy Chief Guest of the Day Mrs. Gurinder Kaur Sangha– Dean, College of Basic Sciences, PAU. Model of Satellite centralized on modifications of communication system was appreciated by all. Other models titled Preservation of electricity, steam energy, eco-friendly Air Conditioner, Altimeter, India 2020 and Evolution of man turned the day into day of SCIENSEA. In quiz contest 10 teams from the reputed city schools participated. First elimination round was based on written MCQ test. Out of them four teams got selection for the final round on merit basis. Audio Visual, rapid fire and pass on rounds were organized for going with final results. Parent community of approx.1000 also got benefitted by getting their scientific knowledge of practical significance increased. Social Media covered the whole day’s programme by marking it high. Display Board decoration competition themed on the contributions of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam in the field of science and technology explored the students’ scientific cum artistic talent. Tributing the science minds of India ten students came dressed as the prominent scientists like Dr.C.V. Raman, Dr.J.C.Bose, Aryabhatta, Charak, Sushrut and Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. A scientific choreography depicting the major causes of deforestation and different kinds of pollution awared all to be eco friendly. Sciensea, an exciting, exhilarating and empowering festival opened an expansive world of science adding freshness and flair to young minds messaging them to put their every endeavour for making their motherland an epitome in the field of science and technology." |
