| Event Name: | A Simple Response to an Elemental Message |
| Event Description: | As part of the 2016 World Space Week, A Simple Response to an Elemental Message is delighted to announce a brief 3-day extension (3rd Oct, 00:00 UTC – 5th Oct 23:59 UTC) to its original open call for public participation within a forthcoming interstellar radio message. We invite the worldwide public to consider and freely respond to the simple question; “How will our present environmental interactions shape the future?” before submitting their perspective(s) for inclusion within this cosmic initiative. On 10th of October 2016, the publicly-generated transmission will be beamed from the European Space Agency's 35m Cebreros deep-space tracking station into interstellar space to commence its 434 light year journey. Be part of this journey and join over 3700+ individuals from 146 countries in this interstellar ‘message in a bottle’ via; www.asimpleresponse.org/submit A Simple Response to an Elemental Message is a non-for-profit, publicly-generated interstellar radio message due to be transmitted on a one-way journey towards the Pole Star on 10th Oct 2016. This initiative was developed in collaboration with the UK Astronomy Technology Centre, European Space Agency and the University of Edinburgh along with researchers working at the John Hopkins University and also the European Southern Observatory.
