Event Name:  Math in Astronomy
Event Description:  This is a Learning/Teaching Activity and a short-term exchange of students and Staff Training on the topic: MATH IN ASTRONOMY, as part of the Erasmus+ Partnership MATH AROUND US, funded by the European Comission. There were 24 students and 12 teachers from 7 countries across Europe: Romania, Hungary, Denmark, Poland, Portugal, Greece andItaly together with hosting students and teachers from Lithuania. Activities that took place: Monday, 3 October: Students Presentations on „Cubic miles ” Class assistance on Math in Astronomy “Geometry . Acute angle sine of a right-angled triangle“ “Acute angle cosine of a right-angled triangle“ “Statistics“ (3 hours) Workshops on Astronomy & Geometry : “Solar Geometry“ , “Solar Shadow Geometry”, “ Tuesday 4 October: Training session workshop “Educational technology for project activities “ (with the tablets) (3 hours) Visit to Anyksciai – „Cosmos” Pauksciu Takas&Laju Takas (2 hour) Wednesday 5 October: Study visit at the Etnocosmological Museum in Moletai. Workshops on Math & Astronomy: Sun clock” „How estimate sunspots” „Live in the space“ . (6 hours) Class assistances (6 hours) Thursday 6 October: Training session at Utena Teachers Training Centre by R. Skorulskienė „Practical Astronomy at School” (2 hour) Training session at Utena Teachers Training Centre by E. Report on the Results:  1- students’ skills and competences improved in the fields of Maths and the Astronomy by attending classes 2 - students’ analytical skills grew through working with the Math material in groups and on their own 3 - students’ motivation for learning Maths and improve their transcurricular approach to Astronomy increased 4 - students’ communication and interpersonal skills sharpened and their mastery of their linguistic skills, by improving their English language competences 5- students improved their ICT skills 6 - Students created the Dissemination brochure using Popplet App 7 - Students got familiar to the eTwinning platform 8 - Students developed their active citizenship skills and respect for other cultures
