| Report on the Results: | Report on Talk on space on 08.10.09 As a part of World Space Week celebration, a talk was organised on the concept of Directions in the premises of Salwan Public School, Rajinder nagar, New Delhi. Module I students from standard VI,VII,VIII participated in the said session. A well equipped computer laboratory was provided to us and along with this an area having direct sunlight was provided in order to conduct the required experiments for the session. It was an interesting session, students were actively participating in the sessiont. A session included concept of common directions,cardinal directions,reference points, sun as a universal reference point. Simple methods to find the directions viz. Shortest shadow method, by using magnetic compass, by using pole star and altitude-azimuth coordinates. The session is having number of activities in between that breaks the monotony and keep students active throughout the session. In nutshell, a session followed learning by doing approach. |
