| Report on the Results: | 1. Journey on the Beam of light: From the beginning of the intellect of mankind, it was a keen desire to search for its existence and also to explore beyond our reach. The spirit to know what we see with our eyes in a dark night and to know about our neighborhood space was a big challenge. One should be very clear about the vastness of our universe and our own size in that. How insignificantly earth has been placed in that vastness should be well established. This session gives an idea about the size of the universe and the timely connections between them. Also one can realize the vacant space present in the universe and can directly relate it our own size. In this session, started from our very own star (The Sun), we move to the end of the known universe. Some basic facts and fascinating ideas also strike at every stages of the journey which creates fascinations about our mysterious universe amongst the students. In this session we tell some fascinating facts to the students about the solar system and carry out the journey to the end of the universe. The main objective of the session is to realize the students about the vastness and vacant space in the universe. We also introduce few new terms to the students like Nebulae, galaxies, clusters etc. |
