| Event Description: | A Astronomy Workshop was organized for the students of BITS Pilani(150 registrations). Students from local schools were also invited to attend the workshop(41 registrations). The main motive was to create an interest in the young minds about the vast expanse of the Universe and promote the WSW: Events organised: #4th Oct- 5:00 pm Inauguration of WSW workshop and lectures: i)Celestial bodies-basics ii)Astrophotography for amateur astronomers #5th Oct- Nights sky session for School children #6th Oct- Lecture: iii) Survey of Modern Astronomy +Night Sky watching session for underpriveledged children (in association with National Service Scheme and Nirmaan,BITS Pilani) #7th Oct- Night Sky watching sessions for BITSian students. #8th Oct- Lecture: iv) BLACKHOLES + Night sky watching session for School participants #9th Oct- Lecture: v) Sun +Night sky watching sessions for BITS faculty. #10th Oct- Lecture: vi)Star Trail Photography +Demonstration of Star Trail Photography +Astrophotography session |

| Report on the Results: | @Workshop registrations: *150 BITSian students. *41 School Children. *120 children from NSS and Nirmaan schools. @In all night sky watching sessions objects shown were: *Jupiter *Moon *Pleiades *Orion Nebula *Andromeda Glxy. @Telescopes used: *Newtonian Cassegraian mount (11 , fully automaatic) *Gallilean(6 Refractor) @astrophotography: Jupiter,Moon,Orion Nebula,Pleiades,Andromeda,Eta Lyra. -using 49mm SLR camera @overall the workshop was a great success..!!! |
