Join us on October 6th we're going to go at about 6:30 in the evening see if we can see in observatorium show and then look through the telescopes. The telescopes close at 9:45 p.m., and they show Observatory planetarium shows until about 8:45. Admission to the Observatory building, grounds, and telescopes is always FREE! PLANTARIUM TICKET PRICES: Ticket prices range from $3.00 to $7.00 depending on whether you are an adult, senior, student, child, or FOTO member. Space Unites The World, the WSW theme for 2018, is about encouraging connection and understanding how we relate to space and to each other. Please come with us and watch the skies. |

Report on the Results: | Wow, I may not have seen nor met with all of those who went because of post of the event I posted on Facebook. There were 6 in our party and 4 of them must have had a great time before we got there, how that worked out was tough because of another event in the area. We almost got a look out of the fantastic telescope on the mountain, but a rare occurrence for LA had cloud cover just as we got to the scope. So I hope those who made it just before us got a good look at Mars. So we decided to look close and to return to the Griffith Observatory, and to advocate becoming a Friend Of The Observatory in the future, just like Susan and Leonard Nimoy. (More about becoming a FOTO is on our posting and their website.) So we will return and soon so we can see Mars too. There was a very nice Planetarium show about the Northern Lights. And we had a great time and made some new friends. That is one of the things World Space Week is all about. LLAP |
