| Event Name: | World Space Week Celebration |
| Event Description: | Our principal Mr. Veysel Kircali and the science teacher Ms. Serap Akpinar will lead the whole World Space Week organization to be held in our school. We are planning to arrange a big exhibition in which different space-related activities will be set for visitors. We will be in close contact with local and national media throughout WSW. |

| Report on the Results: | Celebrations in SAMSUN has begun with the announcement of WSW. Posters sent by TURKSAT A.S. were decorated on the walls of our school. Students have searched about the history space and the findings were added to our wall paper. A spacecraft model has been designed and made in the Technology and Design class. After a long information-gathering process, a VOYAGER model has been made. Preparations done by astronauts before launch have been studied and prepared as a presentation. A space movie shot in Turkey has been watched. In our visual arts class, space-related; pictures, comics, and 3D models have been prepared by students. After all of these preparations, our space exhibition was ready to be visited. During the exhibition, WSW balloons, t-shirts, hats, cups, puzzles, pens, and pencils (provided by TURKSAT A.S.) have been distributed to the visitors. Local TV stations broadcasting over a satellite, Canal 55 & 2000 TV, have given the news of our event live during WSW. In national newspapers; Turkiye, Halk, Altinova our celebrations news have taken their places. Furthermore, a local radio station, Bafra Baris, circulated the information regarding the exhibition to its listeners. We have also prepared a WSW web-site: www.derekoyio.tr.cx and uploaded all the information about the events done here in SAMSUN. In total: 570 Students, 152 parents, 35 teachers and hundreds of visitors have attended to our celebrations. |
