| Event Description: | In NEVSEHIR, WSW 2007 celebrations will be hosted by private Altinyildiz College. In this years organization of WSW celebrations following events will be held. Space technologies and WSW conferences will be given by TURKSAT A.S. on October 25th. In addition, a number of space-related presentations and stage activities are planned. | Report on the Results: | Students of NEVSEHIR Altinyildiz College have volunteered and worked so hard to organize their own celebration environment. Preparations started by October 20th. Clipboards, containing information regarding WSW, were placed on five different points in our school. Students and visitors have read and learned about WSW a week before the celebrations started. Our teachers Ms. Vesile DEGERLIER and Ms. Burcu OZALTIN attended the main WSW conference organized in Istanbul by TURKSAT A.S. on October 6th and received information how to better organize our WSW events. On October 18th, Ms. Vesile DEGERLIER has given a little conference about WSW to our students. Students of the Science and Technology Club have created the WSW web-site of our school. They have updated the web-site constantly during the celebrations. Prior to the WSW conference on October 25th, school paper had been prepared by Ms. OZALTIN in order to disseminate the event in our city. Celebrations started with the presentations done by TURKSAT A.S. Governor of NEVSEHIR state, Mr. Asım HACIMUSTAFOGLU, has attended the conference with Harun FATSA, Director of Education. The program continued with the activities prepared by students. At the end of the conference, students participated in the national drawing contest were on the stage to get their prizes. An audience of 1000 people watched the event. With the help of local media, we have also had the chance of reaching thousands of people and inform them about WSW. We would again like to thank you TURKSAT A.S. for coordinating and supporting our events, especially, Mr. Adnan CELIK (Head of the Training, Planning, and Strategy Development department), Mr. Omer Faruk COLLUOGLU (National Coordinator of WSW Turkey 2007), and Ms. Meliha AKSU (Education Manager). |
