Event Name:  The Universe -- An Infinity of Opportunities
Event Description:  On the occasion of the World Space Week, Grup Scolar Gherla, a technological high school, is organizing an exhibition of products made by our students. The activity is due to the 7th October 2010 at 14.00h in the schoolyard, and the order of the activities is the following: 1) Space fashion presentation ( the students having the specialty Textile industry) 2)Interplanetary means of transport (the students having the specialty Mechanics) 3)Sightseeing in... the Universe (the students in the classes having the specialty in Tourism) 4)Stellar dishes (stellar waffels, galactic candies, etc.) (the students having the specialty Alimentation) The exhibition will be visited by "aliens", so that each class will represent a different constellation, galaxy, planet, etc. Each class will have its own stall and can exhibit only one product described by a representative of the class. They can use any type of recyclable material: paper, cardboard, cloth, plastic bags, tinfoils, different types of engines, etc.

Report on the Results:  Tha Students having the specialty Tourism hae created leaflets and posters of tourism agencies offering trips into space, such as "A day around the Blue Planet" or " A memorable circuit through the Universe." The Students in the Textile classes have created School uniforms form recyclable materials and the 10th grade has even created a small play in which a Martian came to Earth, spoke to the audience and presented their autumn-winter collection of haute-couture. The students in alimentation classes have created some special disches, such as a Martian Cake, a cake made from recycled plastic cups. The students in the mechanics classes have created stellar cars, and the 11th graders have created a "rocket" made of a pet bottle and a bicycle pump; they even offered a show at the end of the exhibition. The students and the guests appreciated the activity and they're looking forward for its next edition.
