| Event Name: | Finding Local Noon using a Gnomon |
| Event Description: | This time I tried using 7-up bottle as the gnomon!! I wanted to try the available material at home to learn and teach astronomy. We set up the bottle in front of our gate where the sunlight was available. It was really a nice activity to see the shadow of the bottle after every 5 minutes and the kids there realized that the sun is moving all the time!!! We found the local noon for delhi at ….. Later I found out the circumference of the earth using the sunangle I found at local noon. |
