| Event Description: | Spaceadhyaan is very much excited and geared up to celebrate the world’s largest space event-World Space Week -2019.The theme of WSW-2019 is “The Moon: Gateway to the Stars”. This theme is chosen to celebrate the 50th anniversary of humankind’s first step to the moon on 20 July 1969. The theme is devoted to our nearest space neighbour to celebrate the incredible achievement of landing on the Moon and to spark consideration of the value of the Moon in humankind’s future space endeavours.World Space Week dates commemorate the launch, on 4 October 1957, of the first artificial satellite, Sputnik I, and the entry into force, on 10 October 1967, of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. As a part of WSW-2019, Spaceadhyaan plans to conduct awareness programs for public and students about Earth’s Moon and its Missions. 1. Moon & Understanding: In this session, We brief the audience about the near & far Sides of Moon, Craters, Marias, Synchronous Rotation, Rising & Setting Times of Moon etc., 2. Chandrayaan 1 & 2: In this Session, Educators will give in-depth understanding on the proud missions of India. 3.Video Streaming: Several Video sessions are planned because it is also an interactive way to deliver the message about the space and technologies. 4. Various activities and concepts like Comet Making, Age of Universe, Moon and Mars rover, Living in Space-How astronauts live in space? -- -practically explained through experiments and models. 5. Orientation of Sky-Tracking Stars in the Sky, Constellations, Pole Star and Importance. 6. Star Gazing- Moon and other Celestial bodies observation are conducted for students using High-end telescopes. 7. Telescope-Different types of telescopes, how it works?, Space telescopes-Hubble etc., are explained in this session. 8. Field Trip: Spaceadhyaan is taking around 300 students to ISRO,SDSC SHAR to witness the launch of RH sounding rockets & practically see the facilities, infrastructures and interact with the eminent personalities |
