Event Name:  World Space Week in Kostroma
Event Description:  A large number of events will take place during World Space Week in the Kostroma Region from October 4 to 10. The space week announced by the UN General Assembly is dedicated to the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite and the 50th anniversary of the first manned landing on the moon. Most of the thematic events will take place at the planetarium in Kostroma.

Report on the Results:  Young Kostroma residents held interesting meetings with the participation of veteran organizations Kostroma-Baikonur and Kostroma-Plesetsk, thematic audiovisual and full-dome programs. At the interactive lesson “Space exploration”, students of grades 7–11 learned about the main directions of development of domestic and foreign cosmonautics, as well as about satellite astronautics and its applied value. High school students learned about the achievements of modern astronomy, the secrets of dark matter and the energy of the universe.
