| Event Description: | Inauguration ceremony of World Space Week 2011 at Peshawar shall be held at University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar on 04 October 2011 to formally commence the WSW activities in Peshawar. The inauguration ceremony shall be followed by Seminar on WSW 2011 theme. |

| Report on the Results: | The event started with the inauguration ceremony on 04 October 2011. Mr. Muhammad Hamayun, Secretary of Science & Technology and Information Technology (ST&IT) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural ceremony. Professor Dr. Azzam-ul-Asar, the Dean faculty of Engineering UET Peshawar, highlighted the importance of World Space Week and discussed the program of the upcoming week. The details of the whole program is attached as “Annex-A”. Mr. Muhammad Farooq, Manager SPARC Peshawar, presented the history of SUPARCO and elaborated the achievements of SUPARCO in different fields of Space Technology. He also thanked the Vice Chancellor for holding the World Space Week at their campus. The worthy Chief Guest also discussed the importance of space technology and its effects on the socio-economic uplift of the nation. Later on, Engr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gillani, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar, stressed in his speech on the need to build closer academic links with SUPARCO as well as ST & IT so that joint efforts can be made towards finding indigenous solutions for the betterment of the country in general and province in the particular. At the end he presented his vote of thanks for organizing the event at UET Peshawar. |
