Event Description:  Timings--- 9am to 2pm Eratosthenes Experiment: This will give students an exiting opportunity to measure the circumference of Earth......AGAIN!!! This method was first devised experimentally by an ancient thinker - “Eratosthenes”.The method involves finding the Sun Angle and the Local Noon Time What do the Children Learn: Who was Eratosthenes,How did he conduct this experiment,What is Local Noon Time,What is Sun Angle,Introduction to Sundials …....and loads of other things!! Aerodynamics Demonstration: In this experiment the students will make their own paper gliders and make them fly...THE SMARTEST PLANE WILL WIN!!! This way the children will have fun along with they will learn the concepts of flight. Real time 3D photography: The students will get a chance to get their 3D photograph clicked!!! and that too for FREE!! Two of our volunteers will be given the task, one will click the photographs with a professional digital single-lens reflex camera and the other one will convert the photographs to 3D using a laptop. Screening of a documentary: This Documentary , titled Ancient Aliens:Gods & Aliens is about some scientists who think that Gods mentioned in all the religions on Earth were Aliens who ventured to Earth to assist in the development of the Human Race. : A Science-Fiction Movie - “Contact” Synopsis: Dr. Ellie Arroway, after years of searching, finds conclusive radio proof of intelligent aliens, who send plans for a mysterious machine. Evening observation: Some powerful telescopes will be set up to observe various deep sky objects which includes nebulae, star clusters, galaxies and many more objects!! During this observation session the volunteers will also demonstrate and teach the children the basic concepts of ASTRO-PHOTOGRAPHY using a digital single-lens reflex cameras brought by the volunteers themselves. Weight in space: Measure your weight on other planets!! Comet Kitchen: In this experiment volunteers will help children to build their own comet using some very safe material (brought by the volunteers). Quiz: 12 participants will be selected from the crowd.Prizes range from pens to TELESCOPES!! HYDROROCKETERY: Get ready to send your rocket to the heavens!!! Children will make and launch there own water-powered rockets with the equipment provided to them. Introduction to an Organization found by five Ryanites: “SOCIETY OF INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMERS AND SPACE EXPLORERS”. An Exhibition: on the First artificial satellite and the first astronaut-”Yuri Gagarin”. Drawing Competition: Topic -”Aliens and our Lives” Students will bring their own material. Drawing sheets will be provided.

Report on the Results:  although the evening observation had to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions, the fair was a huge success.
