| Event Description: | In collaboration with Khwarizmi Science Society heavenly objects will be seen through telescope and other apparatus. The event will be held at Satellite Research and Development Centre-Lahore from 1800- 2200 hrs.The purpose of this event is sighting of celestial objects through high magnification telescopes. |

| Report on the Results: | Astronomy Night as a part of WSW 2012 was planned to invoke the interest of people in the space and celestial objects. The event was organized in collaboration with following societies. i. Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS). ii. Lahore Astronomical Society (LAST). Along with the organizer team, different schools, collages and universities attended the Astronomy Night event. Telescopes were installed in lawn of SRDC-L to entertain all the participants. The details of the telescopes are as follows; i. Three Celestron telescopes, including one high magnification 14” lens telescope. ii. One Meade telescope. iii. One sky watcher telescope. iv. One Astronomical Binocular. Following celestial objects were sighted on Astronomy Night event. i. Ring Nebula. ii. Hercules cluster. iii. Binary star. iv. Double Cluster. v. Andromeda galaxy. vi. Seven sisters constellation (Pleiades). vii. Jupiter along with its bands and 4 moons. |
