Event Description: | Declamation contest among the participating schools and colleges/universities will be arranged in English and Urdu at Satellite Research and Development Centre-Lahore (0900-1300 hrs). Report on the Results: | This was one of the main activities of World Space Week and a number of students from schools, colleges and universities participated for this event. The event was arranged in two separate time slots. First half of the day was for the declamation contest of school students and other half for college and university students. Declamation contest for the schools was for students from class 8th to 10th / O levels. Only one student was allowed to participate in each category (English & Urdu). Topics for the declamation were as follows: Neil Armstrong told me … (English) "Kia Dhondne Gaey Thay Musafir Khalon mein" (urdu) Students from the colleges and universities were given different topics in English and Urdu with serious and humorous themes to select from. Jury Members were well experienced with declamation formats and gave valuable feedback to participating students. Speeches of the first prize winners of the declamation contest were repeated on the Prize Distribution Ceremony and were very much appreciated by the audience. |
