Event Name: | A Piece of Universe in Our School |
Event Description: | We named our action "A Piece of Universe in Our School". We started to work at this project begining from September 20th. Our project has 3 big parts : - about Science( the scientific discoveries that has bound the man to Cosmos) - about the influence of the Universe over Life on Earth. - an esoteric part (about the influence of planets over humans, the Zodiac, the secrets behind the curtains of human spirituality). We started by making some informative panels in order to get people's attention and to inform them how space can provide human safety and security. Also we made some scale models of the Hubble Telescope,a scale model of the Moon Buggy, Power Point Presentations and a documentary film about the Universe. |

Report on the Results: | As we expected our event was a success. However, it exceeded our expectations, because the whole community wanted to take part.Even the little pupils had their part in this. The mass-media was involved in this. Our project was filmed, transmitted on ASTV post and it reached the local newspaper's titles. Overall the event enjoyed a large publicity. In the end, the students wanted extra activities held in public. They,as students the "Liviu Rebreanu" National College wanted to transmit a message to the world : that we know universe can be a big help to humanity, assuring it's safety and security. Our project started simply as an ideea. Last year, while participating at World Space Week 2011 we didn't know what to make, something that would impress the public. A week before the event we had this ideea to realise a scale model of a moon buggy. Unfortunately we didn't have the time or the money to do it in a week, last year. So, this year, we thought we had to do it. After we raised a fund and got some money we started working at our moon buggy. We knew it wasn't hard to do. However it took some imagination and planning to get to the final product. First, we made the chassis from wood. We had to make it stable and strong enought to sustain both of us. Then, a small problem was implenting the wheels. So we made a two holes in two griders that we nailed to the bottom of the chassis and we shoved in some metal pipes on which we put the wheels. After we succeeded putting the wheels, we knew it would be piece of cake. We brushed up the wooden chassis, painted it brown, put some chairs, a steering wheel, a monitor (to make it look more like a "moon buggy"), two headlights and two antenas in the back. It must had antenas... And Voila,in a week we finished our moon buggy. Overall we had to work hard, but the results overjoyed us. It was a success for the event. A World Space Week in 2012 at CNLR with our own moon buggy. Isn't that awsome? We hope it is. Made by Paul Istrate. I believe that this event had a great impact both on the students who dealt with the information and the actual display of materials on the matter and the ones who attended the festivity. Not only was it educative but also fun to attend to. The fact that it was presented in an approachable way and because of the alluring materials and videos I consider that a significant percentage of students were satisfied with the presentation and acquired a lot of information.
