Event Name:  Building a Mars base
Event Description:  This event starts in September with a set of four workshops for kids starting at 10 years old. During four sessions they will discover Mars and build a model 1:50 on the red planet, as if they manufacture a real human base: Day1: kids will learn about Mars, its characteristics and requirements regarding temperature, atmospheric pressure, radiation… to build a permanent human base, and propose a design of an interior layout. Day 2: kids will get familiarized with basics of 3D printing, and will draw and print their base designs. Day 3: kids will get familiarized with basics of robotics, and will build a robotic caterpillar to help astronauts to cumulate red soil ontop of their bases. Day 4: kids will join every element together in a larger plattform and set the first modules for a permanent human base on Mars. Day 5: During the WSW (on Saturday 5th of October) kids will bring their models to the public space selected by the City Council to carry on a set of conferences and exhibitions during the WSW.
