| Report on the Results: | A seminar was organized at SRDC-L as part of World Space Week 2013 celebrations on 04-October-2013 at SRDC-Lahore. The main objective of this event was to update the audience about the developments going on in the field of space science and technology. The target point was to make the people aware of what is going on in our country in this context, i.e. space applications, other space related programs, etc. Some experts from various organizations and institutes, who were invited in the seminar, presented their research work they had already conducted in the field of space applications. Ms. Urooj Saeed, Manager GIS, World Wide Fund (WWF) Pakistan presented the work carried out by WWF in the field of space applications. Mr. Fawad Saeed and Mr. Ahsan Saqib from The Urban Unit, shared the centralized web based portal developed by the Urban Unit, Lahore on Punjab level. Dr. Sajid Rashid, Assistant Professor, Institute of Geology, University of the Punjab presented methodologies how to gather the fast and accurate information using space applications. In the Question/Answer Session, some participants asked questions, which were answered by at the spot. |
