Report on the Results:  Radio Expedition is organized by Federal Space Agency together with Russian Ham Radio magazine and is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Sputnik-1 launch. Expedition team has deployed a memorial amateur radio station with UP50SAT call sign next to Gagarin launch pad at Baikonour Space Port. More than 1000 communication sessions with radio amateurs from all over the world were conducted during the expedition. The appearance of UP50SAT call sign on air has immediately generated enormous connection requests from other amateur radio stations. Among the people who took part in those communication sessions there were radio amateurs who had a chance to hear the real Sputnik-1 broadcast far back in 1957. Some of those people even used to work on preparing and launching various spacecrafts.
