Event Name:  Colonies In Space
Event Description:  40 years ago, plans were put forward for massive colonies on space that could house thousands - and ultimately millions of people - and all constructed using the technology of the time. The colonies could be paid for by building solar power satellites to provide energy to Earth, still a problem today. In fact, by going to space, we could solve most of the major problems down here on Earth. With advances in technology over the last 40 years, and the advent of Reaction Engines' "Skylon" launcher, the project could be carried out more efficiently than its original planners showed. Here about the project from Jerry Stone - "one of the leading speakers on space exploration". 7:30 pm (Doors open 7:00pm)
