Event Name:  Telescope Night, World Space Week
Event Description:  *During class time, 5th graders have worked on devices with propulsion. *4th,5th,and 6th graders will enjoy a ride on a hovercraft and make connections to spaceships and rockets. *On Oct. 9th more than 200 people are expected to our traditional Telescope Night in Planetarium Torreón.

Report on the Results:  *Fifth grade students had lots of fun figuring out how to make objects move with propulsion. There were balloon rockets, soda pop rockets, balloon cars, balloon CD hovercrafts, steam boats, and more. *4th, 5th, 6th grade students and some teachers enjoyed riding a hovercraft. After that, discussions about Newton, rockets, satellites were filled with analyses, questions and interesting conclusions. *On the Telescope Night, about 200 people were excited to visit the new planetarium in town and be able to use the biggest telescope open to the public in Mexico. Stars, nebulae, the moon and Mars were observed. *Second graders worked on a space computer project and decorated a big bulletin board at the school entrance.
