| Event Description: | Spaceflight Editor David Baker is hosting a fund raising and signing event on his latest book, Soyuz 1967-2014. This book tells the full story of how Soyuz began, the pitfalls it suffered on the way to flight status and on the manner in which it would have supported Moon landings. The book also describes how Soyuz has been designed and adapted to fill different roles and provides the reader with a highly illustrated account of the design layout, configuration of systems and the working concepts behind its operation. It includes cutaway diagrams of equipment and shows systems layout and provides the reader with reference information on the Progress cargo-tanker which has been the mainstay of space station operations for several decades. Books will be available for sale discounted from the retail price and signed by the author on the night. All money generated by this fund raising event will go to the BIS. |
