| Report on the Results: | 07.10.2014 Tuesday A special assembly was organized to announce the beginning of the WORLD SPACE WEEK celebrations. Mr.Swaroop Suresh , the In-charge of Math & Science Club gave an introductory speech about the various ways in which the space is helping the human mankind. Miss. Greeshma Rose Raju, the In-Charge of Math &Science Club read out the activities planned throughout the week and encouraged all the participants. Mrs. Valsa. A.S , the Principal , in her speech congratulated all the members of the Kaleidoscope for showing such an active interest in the activities. She also sought the members cooperation to complete all the activities. She then released the Badge designed for the celebration . Kumari Nitha Susan, President of Math and Science club gave Vote of thanks , in which she thanked the school management for arranging such celebration. Mr.Sabu N.T, Administrative Officer, announced that Engineer, Mr.Sarath Radha krishnan from VSSC, would be visiting the school at 11.30 am to have an interactive session with the senior students. He also asked the students to make use of this opportunity, as it is rare chance for the students to have such an interaction.The assembly was then dispersed. At 10 am, Article reading competition was held. 32 students participated in the event and there was tight competition among the high school students. At 11.30 am, Mr.Sarath Radha Krishnan , an engineer from VSSC came and he was welcomed by the school management committee. He had an interactive session, in which many concepts about the space science and the India’s Space research was explained to the students. 28 Students actively participated in the event and was very educative, informative. At the end of the session, he presented a pack of resource materials to the Club. 08.10.2014 Wednesday At 10 am, elocution competition was held. The topic for the event was Future perspective of Space. 36 students participated in the competition, of which 10 were from the LP and 12 were from UP and HS. Students participated actively and were judged by 3 teachers. From the presentation, it was evident that the students have done enough research and collected many points. At 2.00 pm, Poetry writing completion was held. It was a written competition for the duration of 1 hour. 15 students participated in the event, of which 5 were from the LP, 3 from UP and 7 from HS. 09.10.2014 Thursday At 10 am, there was a display of the models prepared by the students. 20 students displayed their models for public view. Common among them were the various satellite, Rocket models. All the models were static model. Three best models from each category were selected by public voting by the students and teachers. At 11. am, written quiz competition was conducted. It was taken up by 70 students. Students were given questionnaire and were asked to answer 25 questions in 30 minutes time. At 2.00 pm, Poster making competition was conducted. 21 students participated in the event and designed many interesting posters. 10.10.2014 Friday At 10 am , painting and cartooning was conducted. 30 students participated in the cartooning and 22 students participated in the event. They work of the students portrayed their creative skill. At 3 pm, there was a concluding meeting. Mr.Rafeeq , the President of PTA, in his speech congratulated all the participants and requested the school to conduct the Summative Assessments before hand in the next academic year, so that more programmes can be conducted. He also remembered the work of ISRO in uplifting the country’s image in global market. He then motivated the students to become a responsible citizen and serve the country. He also thanked the Math & Science club and the school in conducting such events. The winners of various events were read out and were felicitated. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Miss.Greeshma Rose Raju, the In-charge of Math and Science Club. |
