Event Name:  Importance of Satellite Navigation in Space Missions
Event Description:  This event was held by Astronautics Research Institute (an affiliate of ISRC) on Wednesday 8 October 2014 from 9:30 to 13 focusing on the importance of Satellite Navigation in Space Missions

Report on the Results:  A number of 70 high school students participated in this event. The topics presented in the symposium included: importance of satellite navigation in space missions, Iran’s space activities, importance of space technology in modern life, developments of space science and technology in the world, satellite navigation and its applications in different fields of science and technology e.g. computer, mechanics, electrics and electronics, etc. All these topics were presented using interesting videos and PowerPoint presentations. On the occasion of this conference, two competitions were held for participants. Firs competition was in form of a questionnaire including questions on general space knowledge, and the second competition was a maquette competition. On the sidelines of the symposium, students could visit an exhibition of Iran’s sounding rockets and take photos with Fargam and Pishgam (Iran's astronaut monkeys). They left after they had lunch at the ARI.
